Maria Sharapova is back, once again, looking for her first title since the suspension. She already established a clash against Simona Halep in the third round and things look rather bad for the Romanian, as Sharapova leads her 7-0. Halep did not show any improvements in her game after the Roland Garros final and she might lose the second spot or maybe drop from the Top 10 if things go like this in the future. Garbine Muguruza retired, while Svitolina and Pliskova are still playing, having all chances to advance in the WTA rankings. Agnieszka Radwanska will try to defend her title won in 2016, but with this draw it will be very hard for her.
